I auspiciously began The Guardians Series under the temporary title of Stop Motion one year ago in January, 2017. About four months ago, I became lost and confused about where this series was going and what it was supposed to be. On top of that, I over thought my super power system and made it too cumbersome and complicated to wield adequately in the story. In my frustration, I switched gears and focused on other projects that pulled my attention away from Quinn and Blake.
Other Writing Opportunities
One of the other projects is the Nitraxian Galaxy Saga. I focused on this series (and finished book one) so I could incubate ideas and read some super hero books. I also wrote and published Catholic and Gay and overhauled my company site Purple Spekter™. It now hosts books written by some of the best gay authors I’ve enjoyed I think my fans and friends will enjoy. Sometimes, a little break is all one needs. With better focus and direction, a little rearrangement of the existing Guardians text, I’m back at it and hope to start publishing the stories this year.
The Guardians Series: A Tale of Unexpected Teenage Super Heroes and Villains
- Type: Young Adult Superhero Series
- Genre: Action and Adventure, Science Fiction, Urban Fiction, and Superhero
- Planned Books: Four
The Guardians Series is the story of Quinn McAlester and his best friend Blake Hargreaves, high school classmates who acquire super powers through a freak accident. Quinn is a mildly popular, in-the-closet gay and kindhearted guy who lacks the confidence to be himself wants to see his friends and classmates strive to live their best life. Blake is an unpopular student with an impatient attitude and short-fused temper who resents anyone who seems to have it easy in life. As time passes and their super powers grow, Quinn and Blake’s friendship crumbles and the boys must make difficult choices. In Guardians, an unsuspecting hero will rise above his insecurities and face unexpected challenges and heartbreak as he discovers just how dangerous super powers really are.
