Keeping Up with Workouts

Collage1 Over the past few weeks I’ve traveled, working remotely, and overall just been busier than normal. It’s been a challenge – I regret to report – to make sure I include my workouts in my daily (disrupted) routines.

Remote Working (out)

The easiest opportunity for me to work out was when I was working remotely in Los Angeles from 6am to 2pm to match east coast hours. At 2pm, I was free to head down to the hotel’s fitness center and most days, I had it all to myself. I really enjoyed that. As you can see from my post-workout photos, I enjoy some great results. Back on the east coast though, I feel a lazy lifestyle encroaching on me. This is not good!

Collage2Routine, Routine

After 90 days of a regimented fitness program, one might expect a natural habit to have emerged about fitness. And I think it has – but old habits die hard. I notice the absence of a workout, so I have committed to working out at least four days a week until I start P90X2 in a few weeks. I already know that my best times to work out (on a work day) are either early in the morning before work, or around 3:30 or 4:00 if I go into the office early. If I had my druthers, I’d work out around 10:00 in the morning or at lunch. Maybe someday when I’m a millionaire I can set my office hours, but until then…

Dietary Changes

A few weeks back, I decided, with my boyfriend’s encouragement, to try a gluten-free diet. I was willing to see if it would ease or eliminate some symptoms I had taken for granted as part of life. I’m happy to report that I am experiencing better sensations and feelings from my body. One major improvement has been the lack of heartburn, even when eating the foods that normally induce it, such as tomato sauce. That’s a great feeling!

Summer Fun

With the warmer weather right around the corner, I’ll be able to do more outdoor activities and get some great cardio in. I can’t wait to jump in my kayak, on my bicycle, run around, walk, and just enjoy the summer sun..
